Waste Service Providers Survey – February 2011 – June 2011 A survey for Christchurch City, Waimakariri and Selwyn District Councils to identify what services are provided by waste operators with their districts.
Waste glass management – October 2010 – January 2011 - An investigation to identify sustainable options for the management of waste glass in the Westland District.

Identification of Priority Hazardous Wastes (2009) Canterbury Hazardous Waste Subcommittee. Project Description : The Canterbury Hazardous Waste Management Strategy has a number of priority hazardous wastes. This project aimed to identify whether the priority hazardous wastes were still the highest priority for the councils. Hazardous waste operators within Canterbury were identified and then surveyed to determine the new priority hazardous wastes and what the focus should be of future hazardous waste projects.

Pollution Prevention Programme 2002-2010
The Pollution Prevention Programme (PPP) offered free assistance to Canterbury businesses to help them improve their environmental performance and prevent pollution events. The programme had a pollution prevention guide, along with posters and action sheets to help with staff training and awareness..
There were also four Pollution Prevention Officers (PPOs) available to bring the Pollution Prevention Guide to industrial sites and conduct a site assessment. The role was proactive, designed to work alongside industry, assisting in identification of issues and recommendations for potential improvements.
